The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic met today with a delegation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea.
Obradovic said that the two countries already excellent cooperation could be improved even further in this, the 30th year of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Korea, as well as through a Korean delegation’s participation in the 141st IPU assembly, to be held in Belgrade, 13 – 17 October 20129.
The Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman informed the Korean delegation about the developments in Kosovo-Metohija and Serbia’s EU accession as one of the country’s strategic foreign policy goals.
Speaking about the economic cooperation between the two countries, Obradovic said that the trade is at a very high level, hoping for an increase in the number of Korean factories in Serbia in the coming period as the country has the capacities to meet the needs of the world economy.
The head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea Jongkoo Lee believes that the two countries should expand overall cooperation, announcing that during the visit to Serbia he would also have the opportunity to meet with Korean investors in Serbia to discuss the investment climate in our country with the aim to boost Korean investments. He said that Korea fully supports Serbia’s Euro-integration and the economic reforms conducted by the Government. He also stressed that Korea would continue to support Serbia’s stance on Kosovo, hoping that dialogue would yield a satisfying and lasting solution.
The meeting was also attended by Committee members Dubravka Filipovski and Prof. Dr Ljubisa Stojmirovic.
