Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Meets with Hellenic Parliament Member

The Chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee Milos Aligrudic met today, at the National Assembly House, with Rene Dorou, Member of the Hellenic Parliament.

Aligrudic stressed that, so far, the Foreign Affairs Committee had not been chaired by opposition MPs, which set a precedent that obliged him to relay the ruling majority’s positive attitude toward Serbia’s Euro-integration. However, he has to say that the MPs of the Democratic Party of Serbia, like himself, believe that Euro-integration is not a priority, at least not right now. Aligrudic said he believed it important for Serbia to remain free and cooperate with the European Union, as well as Russia, China and Brazil. He stressed that Serbia needs to find its market and improve it to the best of its ability, with a special focus on agriculture.
Speaking of the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija, MP Rene Dorou said that the Greek view of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo remains unchanged and that Serbia can count on its support. Aligrudic said that it is very important for Serbia that Greece stand firm by its position, adding that all support is vital for Serbia right now.
