At its fifth sitting, the Environmental Protection Committee appointed Committee member Milica Vojic-Markovic to participate in the work of the Preparatory Conference of the Parliamentary Process for the Fifth World Water Forum “Parliaments for Water”, to be held on 6 November in Strasbourg.

The Committee also appointed Committee member Milan Dimitrijevic to be part of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Delegation to visit the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka on 31 October.

Also, two Working Groups were formed at the sitting – for the discussion of applications and reactions in crisis situations. It was agreed that the first Working Group be headed by Committee member Milan Dimitrijevic, and that the activities of the Working Group for reactions in crisis situations be coordinated by Committee member Cedomir Jovanovic.

At the sitting the, Committee members confirmed their decision to ban smoking on the National Assembly premises, initiated by the Committee Chairman at the beginning of October.

He informed the Committee that the National Commission on Tobacco Control offered to help in the smoking ban plan, as well as to help the deputies break the habit.

The sitting, held on 28 October, was chaired by Cedomir Jovanovic, the Committee Chairman.
