Prof. Dr Marinkovic stated that MPs Natasa Vuckovic, Aleksandar Stevanovic and Jasmina Karanac had joined the Economic Caucus.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of NALED who briefed the Economic Caucus on the organization’s work plan and programme for the coming period. Director of NALED Violeta Jovanovic said that the organization’s objective is the economic development of Serbia with a focus on six key areas: property (development), grey economy, healthcare, food and agriculture, e-government and improving Serbia’s competitiveness. She added that through direct contact with the business sector, entrepreneurs and representatives of local self-governments, the representatives of NALED can suggest to the members of the Economic Caucus possible amendments to the existing legislation concerning the abovementioned areas. Jovanovic said that visiting the local self-governments is crucial so as to gain a true insight in the field and into problems small entrepreneurs are faced with. The officials agreed that a dialogue with the entrepreneurs and visiting local self-governments can lead to speedier adoption of legislation applicable in practice.

The Director of NALED said that since 2016 the representatives of NALED had initiated about a hundred amendments which the MPs reviewed and the National Assembly accepted for the most part.

The representatives of NALED then suggested three amendments to the Bill on Procedure for Registration into Real Estate and Power Lines Cadastre, currently in Assembly procedure. The members of the Economic Caucus had a constructive debate on these amendments and decided to formulate a final version in consultation with relevant institutions.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic, and attended by MPs Ivan Kostic, Katarina Rakic, Ognjen Pantovic, Zarko Micin, Natasa Vuckovic and representatives of NALED.
