European Integration Committee Chairman Meets with Italian Ambassador to Serbia
The Chairman of the European Integration Committee, Aleksandar Senic met today, at the National Assembly House, with the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Giuseppe Manzo.
Ambassador Manzo expressed his deepest sympathy for the natural disaster that had struck Serbia, adding that Italy had already sent relief for the flood victims.
Congratulating Aleksandar Senic on being elected Chairman of the European Integration Committee, Ambassador Manzo offered his country’s support to Serbia in its progress toward the European Union.
European Integration Committee Chairman Aleksandar Senic reminded the Ambassador of the traditional friendship between Serbia and Italy, opining that Italy’s support would be all the more important in light of its upcoming presidency of the European Union.
The officials opined that one of the Committee’s priorities in the immediate future should be to intensify dialogue with the non-governmental sector and boost its participation in the Euro-integration process.
They also agreed that the cooperation between the two parliaments would be intensified via dialogue between their respective parliamentary friendship groups.
