Edin Djerlek Signs Agreement on Organisation of Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians Next Year in Belgrade

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Edin Djerlek, signed an agreement with the Inter-Parliamentary Union Secretary General Martin Chungong on the organisation of the IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians in Belgrade, from 2 to 4 June 2026.

The agreement specifies the National Assembly\s obligations as regards the organisation of this important event, the central gathering of the IPU Forum of Women Parliamentarians next year. Over 300 women parliamentarians from over a hundred countries around the world are expected to participate.

The theme of the Global Conference will be “Stereotypes in the field of gender equality - is a change of perspective needed?” The National Assembly is organising this event in close cooperation with the Secretariat of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, during which the agreement was signed, was attended by over 600 MPs from 132 countries. In addition to Edin Djerlek, who headed the delegation, our country was represented by MPs Mladen Grujic, Dijana Radovic and Ivana Stamatovic.
