By meeting with the host, our country was given a special honour, and during the conversation with President Tshisekedi, Dr Orlic used the opportunity to once again convey his sincere congratulations on behalf of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, whose envoy he was, and that of the people of the Republic of Serbia.

Dr Orlic and President Tshisekedi recalled the long history of bilateral relations and the traditional friendship of the two countries, underlining the mutual understanding and common stance of the Republic of Serbia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to consistently respect the principles of international law, that is, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of every state. It was confirmed that mutual support on these and all other issues of importance will continue in the future.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic also met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of DR Congo Christophe Mboso N'Kodia Pwanga and the President of the Senate Modeste Bahati Lukwebo. The officials assessed the relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo were based on the two nations’ brotherly ties. They expressed satisfaction with the fact that Dr Orlic's visit was the first by a representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Democratic Republic of the Congo since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic invited the heads of both chambers to visit the Republic of Serbia, emphasised his readiness to improve interparliamentary cooperation at all levels. He also expressed the hope that cooperation will be established at the level of parliamentary friendship groups, as well as between delegations in international parliamentary institutions.

In a cordial conversation with the Prime Minister of DR Congo Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, the National Assembly Speaker expressed willingness to improve cooperation with DR Congo in all areas of common interest, in the spirit of traditionally friendly relations between the two states.

In the course of the meetings, Dr Orlic took the opportunity to convey gratitude to all the highest officials of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for their principled position as regards the non-recognition of so-called "Kosovo".

Dr Orlic’s meetings in Kinshasa were also attended by the Ambassador of DR Congo in Serbia Joseph Kalala Mulamba.
