Defence and Internal Affairs Committee Chairperson Meets with Belarusian Defence Minister
Defence and Internal Affairs Committee Chairperson Marija Obradovic met today, 16 November, at the National Assembly House, with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus Lieutenant General Andrei Alekseevich Ravkov.
Obradovic thanked Minister Ravkov for Belarus not endorsing Pristina’s attempt to join UNESCO at the organisation’s General Conference, because, she said, Serbia considers it a victory for truth and justice.
“Despite all the pressure exerted on Serbia and other countries during the vote, it was proved that our country has friends in the world and Belarus is definitely one of them”, the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee Chairperson concluded.
Minister Ravkov said that he fully supports the further development of relations between Serbia and Belarus, both in the sphere of military and economic cooperation.
On the occasion, the Belarusian Minister said that the Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of military science and military education signed today would undoubtedly contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries as it will enable the exchange of students of military education institutions and their specialisation.
