Dacic Meets with Shoigu

In the course of his official visit to Moscow, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Agreeing that bilateral relations are at a very high level, the two officials discussed the possibilities for further cooperation within the strategic partnership between Serbia and the Russian Federation.

They concluded that a high level of cooperation was maintained during the pandemic and National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic once again thanked Russia for its help in the fight against the epidemic, including the delivery of Sputnik V vaccines and their production in Serbia.

The two officials also discussed the current situation and challenges at the regional and global level and agreed that strong cooperation and mutual support are key to defending common interests. Sergei Shoigu reaffirmed Russia’s support to Serbia’s efforts to preserve its territorial integrity and sovereignty. The National Assembly Speaker thanked the Russian Federation for its support regarding the issue of Kosovo-Metohija.
