Cooperation between University of Belgrade and Yerevan

MPs Prof. Dr Branko Djurovic and Aleksandar Cotric, and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Armenia Babken Simonyan, met with the Rector of the University of Belgrade Prof. Dr Vladimir Bumbasirevic on 17 November to discuss cooperation between the highest educational institutions of Serbia and Armenia.

At the meeting, held at the Belgrade University Rectorate building, the officials launched the procedure for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Belgrade University and the University of Yerevan. Rector Bumbasirevic agreed with the initiative of MPs Djurovic and Cotric, members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Armenia, and Honorary Consul Simonyan, and expects that the proposal will soon to be accepted by the rectorate of the University of Yerevan.

They concluded that the cooperation agreement would boost the professor and student exchange, as well as the exchange of curricula, new scientific discoveries, experiences, methods and processes, which would be to the universities’ mutual benefit.

“The traditional friendly relations between the two countries should be transposed into actual modes of cooperation, and education, science and art will lead the way to progress in all other areas”, said Aleksandar Cotric, the Head of the PFG with Armenia.
