In Strasbourg, as the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, National Assembly Speaker signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) with Chairperson of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko as the President of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The Agreement was signed under the auspices of Serbia’s six-month presidency of PABSEC.

The Agreement outlines cooperation between the two organisations with the aim of establishing stability and security, strengthening democracy, as well as coordinated economic, cultural and social development and peaceful coexistence, and also includes the initiation of mutually beneficial projects, exchange of experiences and joint efforts on legislative issues.

The officials expressed openness for continued mutual support through dialogue at high and highest levels, as well as furthering bilateral and multilateral interparliamentary cooperation with the aim of strengthening peace and stability.
