The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia was the venue for the signing of a contract on a 100,000-dollar donation, made by the Dutch Government, and intended for the implementation of government audit in the Republic of Serbia.

The contract was signed by the Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Nataša Micic, the Minister of Finance and the Economy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Božidar Ðelic, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representative, Francis O'Donnel.

The signatories stressed that the realisation of this project would create the legal framework for the introduction of government audit into Serbia's legal system, which would ensure democratic and transparent control of public spending and curb improper budgetary expenses and corruption.
