Certificates awarded to student work placement programme participants

The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today awarded certificates to participants of the student work placement programme, organised by the National Assembly for the third time in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro.

The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today awarded certificates to participants of the student work placement programme, organised by the National Assembly for the third time in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro. Mr Markovic underlined that more than 90 students had gone through the programme in the past three years, and announced that the National Assembly would be organising the programme on its own. The programme is to involve 20 volunteers in both semesters. Mr Markovic thanked the deputies and Committee chairpersons who acted as mentors and ensured that the students learned about all aspects of Assembly activities, adding that the best students would be offered jobs by the National Assembly. Special thanks for implementing the work placement programme were due, Markovic said, to Committee secretaries and Assembly administrative services, as “deputies come and go, but support services ensure continuity of the work of the National Assembly”, Markovic concluded.

In addition to Mr Markovic, the students were also addressed by Hannelore Valier, head of the Democratisation Sector of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, and the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business Law, Nebojsa Sarkic.

A total of 25 students took part in work placement programmes, from the Faculty of Political Sciences, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Philology, and the Faculty of Business Law. Of these, 19 worked in Assembly Committees, four in Deputies’ Groups, one in the office of the Chairman, and one with the human resources advisor. Predrag Djukic, Tijana Todorovic, and Katarina Ristic were proclaimed top students in this year’s work placement programme.
