64th sitting of the Privatisation Committee

The sixty-fourth sitting of the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, held on 29 August 2006, saw the adoption of the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on Activities of the Privatisation Agency for July 2006 and the Privatisation Agency’s Programme of Activities for August 2006.The Privatisation Committee also adopted the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on Activities of the Share Fund of the Republic of Serbia for July 2006, as well as the Report on Activities of the Central Securities Registry, Depository and Clearing for July 2006.Committee members sent the Ministry of the Economy and the Privatisation Agency a recommendation stating that new privatisation procedures should not be undertaken, and privatisation processes in progress should be discontinued, where companies to be privatised are or involve nationalised assets.



The sixty-fourth sitting of the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, held on 29 August 2006, saw the adoption of the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on Activities of the Privatisation Agency for July 2006 and the Privatisation Agency’s Programme of Activities for August 2006.

The Privatisation Committee also adopted the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on Activities of the Share Fund of the Republic of Serbia for July 2006, as well as the Report on Activities of the Central Securities Registry, Depository and Clearing for July 2006.

Committee members sent the Ministry of the Economy and the Privatisation Agency a recommendation stating that new privatisation procedures should not be undertaken, and privatisation processes in progress should be discontinued, where companies to be privatised are or involve nationalised assets. Committee Chairman Nikola Novakovic said that a topical issue was privatising hotels – all of which have been built on nationalised land.

The sitting was chaired by Committee chairman Nikola Novakovic, and attended by officials of the Ministry of the Economy, the Privatisation Agency, the Share Fund, and the Central Registry.
