52nd Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 10 February, the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee discussed the Bill on the Confirmation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and NATO Support and Procurement Organisation (NSPO) on Logistic Support and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Defence Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia represented by the Ministry of Defence and the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar represented by the Ministry of Defence, submitted by the Government.

Zoran Djordjevic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, provided the rationale for the bills. He said that by joining the Partnership for Peace the Republic of Serbia had shown interest in taking part in multinational operations, and the proposed agreement, among other things, reduces the cost of participation in said operations. The agreement, said Djordjevic, also sets the legal groundwork for the destruction of surplus explosive devices in the Kragujevac Technical Remounting Institute.
The Committee accepted both bills unanimously.

The sitting was attended by Committee members and deputy members Igor Becic, Momir Stojanovic, Milos Tomasevic, Suzana Sarac, Vanja Vukic, Nenad Nikolic, Stefana Miladinovic and Dubravka Filipovski.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Marija Obradovic.
