39th Sitting of the European Integration Committee

At the sitting held on 21 July, the European Integration Committee discussed the Bill on Investigation of Air, Rail and Water Traffic Accidents and the Bill modifying the Law on Obligations and the Basics of Property Relations in Air Transport, submitted by the Government, in principle.

The representative of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure said the purpose of the Bill on Investigation of Air, Rail and Water Traffic Accidents is to improve the safety levels of Serbia’s transport system by conducting a reliable, unbiased and efficient investigation of accidents and a consistent investigative procedure. The Bill also strives to adjust the rules regulating the investigation of air, rail and water traffic accidents to the EU regulations.

Elaborating on the Bill modifying the Law on Obligations and the Basics of Property Relations in Air Transport, the Ministry representative said that the proposed legislation aims to eliminate the noted terminological flaws and enable a more efficient application and interpretation of the existing Law.

Following a short discussion, the Committee members decided to accept both bills.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Aleksandar Senic.
