34th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 10 February 2022, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government ascertained the Proposal of the Decision on the appointment of members of the Election Campaign Supervisory Board.


Committee Chairman Vladimir Djukanovic said that the Law on the Election of Members of Parliament stipulates that in the course of electoral activities, general supervision of activities of political parties, submitters of proclaimed electoral lists, candidates and public media services shall be performed by a Election Campaign Supervisory Board comprised of ten members appointed by the National Assembly, half at the proposal of the Government and half at the proposal of the parliamentary groups at the National Assembly from the ranks of prominent public officials.

The parliamentary groups in the National Assembly submitted proposals for Supervisory Board members, as follows: “Aleksandar Vucic – For Our Children” Parliamentary Group proposed Svetislav Goncic; Socialist Party of Serbia Parliamentary Group proposed Marjan Jovanovic; Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians Parliamentary Group proposed Boris Bajic; UNITED VALLEY - SDA SANDZAK Parliamentary Group proposed Ridvan Rexhepi; Justice and Reconciliation Party SPP - United Peasant Party USS Parliamentary Group proposed Samra Fetahovic.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia submitted to the National Assembly the following proposal of members to be appointed to the Supervisory Board: Prof. Dr Branko M. Rakic, Prof. Dr Miodrag Savovic, Ivona Pantelic, Jelena Milenkovic Orlic and Aleksandar Stamatovic.

By a majority vote the Committee appointed the following to the Supervisory Board:

  • Svetislav Goncic, acting manager of the National Theater in Belgrade,
  • Marjan Jovanovic, economist,
  • Boris Bajic, bachelor of laws,
  • Ridvan Rexhepi, bachelor of laws,
  • Samra Fetahovic, bachelor of laws,
  • Prof. Dr Branko M. Rakic, full professor,
  • Prof. Dr Miodrag Savovic, legal advisor,
  • Ivona Pantelic, journalist-presenter,
  • Jelena Milenkovic Orlic, professor of German language and literature,
  • Aleksandar Stamatovic, opera leading man.
The Committee decided to propose to the National Assembly that the Proposal of the Decision on the appointment of members of the Election Campaign Supervisory Board be considered by urgent procedure.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Vladimir Djukanovic.
