33rd Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting held on 10 November, the members of the Culture and Information Committee ascertained the candidate list for members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media, as well as the lists of organisations which together make up one single nominator.
Committee Chairperson Vesna Marjanovic informed the Committee members about the lists received, stating that the competent committee of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and churches and religious communities had duly submitted their candidate lists, while the associations dealing with freedom of expression and the protection of children are still to submit full documentation.
She reminded the Committee members that at the sitting held on 13 October, pursuant to the Law on Electronic Media, it was ascertained that the right to nominate candidates for members of the Council of the Regulator belongs to associations dealing with freedom of expression and the protection of children, if they were registered for at least three years prior to the date of the public announcement of the call and have a minimum of three implemented projects in this area in the last three years, the competent committee of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and churches and religious communities, which by mutual agreement submit to the Culture and Information Committee the nomination, with rationale, of no more than two candidates for a member of the Council of the Regulator.
The Committee ascertained the candidate list for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media submitted by the competent committee of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, containing Sinsa Isakov and Vladimir Barovic.
The Committee then ascertained the candidate list for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media submitted by churches and religious communities, containing Aleksandra Jankovic and Nenad Draskovic.
The Committee members endorsed the proposal of Dusica Stojkovic to extend the deadline for the submission of missing documentation by the authorised nominators for additional seven days.
