25th sitting of the Committee on Defence and Security
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, convened a sitting of the Committee on Defence and Security for 19 June.
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, convened a sitting of the Committee on Defence and Security for 19 June. Mr Markovic opened the sitting, after which deputy Djordje Mamula took the chair.
The Committee discussed and endorsed the Activity Report of the Security and Information Agency for the period from December 2005 to May 2006. Presenting the Report, the Security and Information Agency director, Rade Bulatovic, emphasised that the security situation in Serbia was stable. He informed the deputies of the Agency’s activities in the fields of counter-terrorism operations, and suppression of business crime and corruption. Mr Bulatovic paid special attention to rationalising and the Agency’s staffing and improving personnel quality, and to co-operation with similar European agencies.
Deputy Goran Jaksic reported to the Committee on his participation at the ‘Engaging South Eastern European Parliamentarians in the fight against organised crime’ regional workshop held in Tirana.Committees related to this activity
