The Bill was presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Environmental Protection Ivan Karic who said that the 7,900,287,000 RSD allocated for Section 25 is 25% more than last year.

The majority of the funds are earmarked for incentives for the re-use and utilization of waste materials – 3,500,000,000 RSD, interventions in case of emergency situations, environmental pollution and other interventions - 500,000,000 RSD, and the improvement of the waste management system - 300,000,000 RSD.

Following a debate, the Committee members proposed, by majority vote, that the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending accept the Republic of Serbia 2020 Budget Bill, Section 25 – Ministry of Environmental Protection. The Committee appointed Prof. Dr Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic as representative of the submitter at the National Assembly sitting.

The Committee went on to consider the appeal of the Recyclers Association of Serbia, of 13 November 2019, that the Environmental Protection Committee request from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Environmental Protection information on the payments owed to the recycling industry i.e. final decision on the payments for treated waste in previous years, which the Committee did, verbally, at the sitting.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Maja Gojkovic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Milena Turk, Mladen Lukic, Radoslav Cokic, Zarko Bogatinovic, Nada Lazic, Prof. Dr Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, Borka Grubor, Dusko Tarbuk, Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Jasmina Karanac and Aleksandra Jevtic, and members of NGOs via the Green Chair mechanism.
