22nd Sitting of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society

At the sitting held on 1 October, the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society discussed and adopted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Information and Communication Technology Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, elaborated by Stefan Lazarevic of the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications.


The Committee members also discussed and adopted the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Higher Education, in principle. According to Prof. Dr Slobodan Stupar, Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, the proposed amendments and modifications lower the amount of points necessary for enrolment into the next year of study from 50 to 48 and reinstate the former six exam periods. It is also proposed that the National Defence Academy should enjoy the same status as other higher vocational schools.
At the sitting, the Committee also adopted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of two members of the National Council for Higher Education and the Proposal of the Decision on the dismissal of Prof. Dr Dusan Ristic from the office of National Education Council member.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Prof. Dr Miodrag Stojkovic.
