The Committee on Relations with Serbs Living outside Serbia held its twentieth sitting on 18 April. The sitting was chaired by Miljko Cetrovic.

The sitting discussed Committee activities for the upcoming period, and was attended by officials of the Ministry of the Diaspora, the Association of Romanian Serbs, and the Assembly of Serbs and Montenegrins of France.

Ministry officials informed the Committee about future Ministry activities, special attention being paid to the drafting of a law on a census of Serbian expatriates and conferences organised by the Ministry and Serbian expatriate organisations. This year’s Tourism Fair will see the Ministry of the Diaspora set up a stall for the first time; the event is to be used to acquaint Serbian expatriates working in the tourism industry with Serbia’s tourist potential. A business conference will be held after the Fair; Serbian businessmen and potential investors are expected to attend. The St Vitus’ Day Diaspora Conference will be held in June: this series of meetings will be the venue for Serbian municipalities to present their projects to foreign investors. The Committee has accepted the invitation to take part in Serbian Days, an event to be held in Paris from 24 to 28 May.

Representatives of Serbian organisations from France and Romania informed the Committee of the manner of their organisation, the problems encountered in their activities, as well as of possibilities for co-operation with the Committee.
