17th Session of the Constitutional Commission`s Basic Issues and Coordination Sub-Committee Held
The Constitutional Commission's Basic Issues and Coordination Sub-Committee held the seventeenth session on September 11, 2003 at 14.00 h.
The Constitutional Commission's Basic Issues and Coordination Sub-Committee held the seventeenth session on September 11, 2003 at 14.00 h. Mr. Vladan Batic, Ph. D., presided over this session.
The Sub-Commission discussed the Constitution of Serbia provisions regulating the sphere of judiciary, the economic system and the National Bank of Serbia.
According to the proposal, which this Sub-Committee is to hand over to the Constitutional Commission that is to reach a decision upon it, both judges and state prosecutors shall be elected by the National Assembly, and the judges' office shall be a permanent one. The proposal includes provisions regulating legal profession as an independent occupation, notary publics and the institution of free legal aid.
The Sub-Commission reconciled positions on freedom of both market and enterpreneurship, on property forms, on the budget and on the National Bank of Serbia as the central bank of the state.
