13th Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee
At the sitting held on 29 April 2013, the Security Services Control Committee considered and adopted the Security Information Agency Report for the period 1 October 2012 to 31 March 2013 and the Report on the security situation in the Republic of Serbia.
The Report covers the Agency’s most important activities in said period, giving a comprehensive overview of the Agency’s work and full insight into the realised activities and tasks within the Agency’s purview.
The need to pass a new normative framework to regulate the work of the Security Information Agency in accordance with contemporary European standards received particular attention, as did the Committee members’ readiness to take active part in these activities. The Committee agreed that the Republic of Serbia needs to implement the regulations which contribute to the maintenance of national security and enable the security services’ adequate response to security threats and risks.
The Committee commended the Security Information Agency members’ professionalism and work in said period and fully supported the Agency’s efforts toward achieving its priority tasks as regards the protection of security and other interests of the Republic of Serbia and its citizens.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Jadranka Joksimovic.
