13th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee

At the sitting held on 11 June 2025, the Culture and Information Committee considered supplements to the Proposal of Candidates for members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.

Following a discussion, the Committee adopted the supplemental Report on the elimination of shortcomings in the Proposal of Candidates for members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.

At the proposal of Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric, the Committee adopted the Decision to organise a public hearing on the topic “Public interview with the proposed candidates for members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media”.

The Committee members went on to consider the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Electronic Media, in detail. The MPs had submitted 13 amendments to the Bill, which neither the Government nor the Committee accepted.

The Committee then considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Media Services, in detail. The Government and the Committee accepted none of the 32 amendments the MPs had submitted to the Bill.

The Committee also considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Information and the Media, in detail. The MPs had submitted 14 amendments to the Bill, which neither the Government nor the Committee accepted.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic, Mgr Akos Ujhelyi, Doc. Dr Rastislav Dinic, Dr Jovan Janjic, Nebojsa Bakarec, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, MA Jadranka Jovanovic, Natasa Jovanovic, Dusan Maric, Branko Miljus, Lepomir Ivkovic and MA Ljubica Vranes.
