12th Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee

At the sitting held on 1 June, the members of the Environmental Protection Committee reviewed the Ministry of Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period February-April 2018.


The Ministry of Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period February-April 2018 was presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Environmental Protection Ivan Karic who said that working on the negotiating position for Chapter 27 and addressed the challenges facing the Negotiating Group in charge of it was by far one of the most important activities in the reporting period. He also spoke about the cooperation with the emergency services on disaster risk assessment, a series of activities concerning waste management, forestation strategies, climate change and environmental protection programme. Karic presented the projects realized in the reporting period and projects yet to be realized. He also spoke about bilateral and international cooperation, projects realized through IPA funds and cooperation with EU institutions.

In addition to the Committee members, State Secretary at the Ministry of Environmental Protection Branislav Blazic and representatives of the network of NGOs who take part in the Committee’s work through the Green Chair mechanism also participated in the ensuing debate.

Following the debate, the Committee accepted the Ministry of Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period February-April 2018 by majority vote.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Ivana Stojiljkovic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Ivana Nikolic, Dusko Tarbuk, Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Milena Turk, Sonja Vlahovic, Radoslav Cokic, Nada Lazic, Prof. Dr Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic and Borka Grubor.
