The construction of the building of the National Assembly House, originally the House of National Representation, began in 1907 for the needs of the Kingdom of Serbia.

While the work on the exterior and interior architectural elements was being finalized, architect Nikolai Krasnov began work on the interior design project for the Assembly.

Paintings

The walls of the Assembly bear twenty frescoes created in the course of 1937 by experienced masters of decorative paining and distinguished artists elected at an open competition the previous year.
