Third Sitting of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society
At the sitting held on 18 June 2014, the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society discussed the Information on the procedure of accreditation of higher education institutions, quality assurance and evaluation of study programs.
The sitting was attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development Dr Aleksandar Belic, President of the National Council for Higher Education Prof. Dr Srdjan Stankovic and the President of the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance Dr Endre Pap.
The President of the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance Dr Endre Pap said that there are accreditation standards the faculties abide by, adding that in the past year the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance accredited 45 higher education institutions, while four were issued a warning.
The President of the National Council for Higher Education Prof. Dr Srdjan Stankovic said that accreditation procedure standards have been established and the system has been harmonised with European standards, adding that the standards in place will continue to be improved.

In the ensuing discussion the Committee members and MPs exchanged views and opinions with the representatives of the Ministry, national Council and Commission on the procedure of accreditation of higher education institutions, quality assurance and evaluation of study programs.
