At the sitting held on 15 March 2011, the Constitutional Issues Committee considered the Proposal to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by 309,622 voters.

The sitting was attended by Momcilo Neskovic, representative of the submitters of the Proposal to amend the Constitution.

Based on the information supplied by the National Assembly Support Service, the National Assembly noted that the Proposal to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia had been submitted by 309,622 voters and that the Proposal had been submitted in written form.

The Committee deemed that at this time it should not enter into the essence of the Proposal to amend the Constitution, but merely note that the proposal had been submitted in the appropriate form. Considering that the Committee members suspected the authenticity of the voters’ signatures, it was deemed that the legitimacy of the voters’ signatures should be examined by the competent authorities.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic.
