Public Call for the Election of Members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media
Today, on 20 October 2015, we issue a public call for the election of members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.
We would like to remind you that the Culture and Information Committee had decided to issue a public call for the nomination of candidates for the election of members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media by the following authorised nominators: 1) associations dealing with freedom of expression and the protection of children; 2) competent committee of the Parliament of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina; 3) churches and religious communities.
Persons who meet the requirements stipulated by the Article 7 of the Law on Electronic Media can be elected member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.
The authorised nominator is obliged to submit to the Culture and Information Committee a written statement of the candidate they nominate verifying that there are no restrictions for the election set forth in Article 1, paragraph 1, of the Law on Electronic Media.
Following the procedure for nomination of candidates by the authorised nominators, the Culture and Information Committee shall make a list of candidates for three members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media, as well as a list of organisations that together form a single authorised proponent as set forth in Article 10, paragraph 5, of the Law on Electronic Media and publish it on the National Assembly’s website.
The Culture and Information Committee shall, following the procedure set forth in Article 11 of the Law on Electronic Media, formulate a candidate list proposal for the election of three members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and forward it to the National Assembly to be adopted.
