Parliamentary Friendship Group with Greece Meets with Leader of Greek Coalition of Radical Left
The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Greece, Sasa Mirkovic, met with the leader of the Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) Alexis Tsipras.
“Greece will always have friends at the National Assembly from whom it can expect maximum support in any situation”, said Mirkovic.
Speaking of Kosovo-Metohija, the leader of the largest opposition party in the Hellenic Parliament said that dialogue is the way to find a mutually acceptable solution to the situation, one that abides by the tenets of international law. He also affirmed that Serbia would always enjoy Greek support on the road to Euro-integration.
Underlining the two countries’ traditionally good relations, Tsipras said that there is still room to further develop not only bilateral cooperation, but rather cooperation in a wider context, at the level of the entire Balkans. He believes that the Greek and Serbia parliaments can play a significant role in it.
“There is potential to develop economic and cultural cooperation, and the two nations also share ties of common religious heritage, in all of this parliamentary cooperation can play the decisive role”, opined Tsipras.
