The officials discussed the bilateral political relations between the two countries, which have no outstanding issues and are characterised by decades of friendship. They agreed that parliamentary cooperation is an important segment where relations can be strengthened and intensified and expressed readiness to aid its further development. They also noted the potentials for improving cooperation in such areas as economy, agriculture and ICT.

Speaker Brnabic informed Minister Shakantu that a Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Kingdom of Eswatini will be formed in the current legislature of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. She said that she is glad that a large number of students from the Kingdom of Eswatini are showing interest in the "World in Serbia" programme and studying in our country, adding that Serbia will continue to provide its support.

Brnabic also said that Serbia will provide all necessary assistance in anticipation of the EXPO 2027 specialised exhibition in Belgrade to make sure the Kingdom of Eswatini is presented in the best way possible.

Shakantu congratulated the Head of Parliament on assuming her new position, stressing that it is encouraging to see more women become decision-makers. She then invited the Speaker to visit her country.

The meeting was also attended by the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Marina Ragus.
