National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic Meets with Students of Faculty of Political Science
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic met with a group of students of the Belgrade Faculty of Political Science, at the National Assembly House.
Marinkovic highlighted parliamentary diplomacy as another important aspect of the MPs’ activity, saying that the National Assembly’s standing delegations are quite active in international parliamentary organisations and regional initiatives. The MPs’ activities within the parliamentary friendship groups, more than 70 of them at the National Assembly, are an important segment of parliamentary diplomacy, said Marinkovic.
The National Assembly Deputy Speaker added that, as part of the Parliament’s representative role, the MPs need to always be in contact with the public, underlining the importance of setting up constituency offices at the local level to that end.
Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic also spoke of the importance of the National Assembly’s control role, primarily its control over the public spending.
Speaking to the students about the importance of education, the quality of the education system and educational programmes in Serbia, as well as the price of university education, the National Assembly Deputy Speaker underlined the importance of creating a society of equal opportunities and an environment conducive to the education of young people in Serbia.
