On the behalf of the Danish Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee, Jeppe Kofod commended the progress Serbia has made so far in the Euro-integration process, stressing that Denmark supports Serbia to be given a start date for talks with the EU. He was interested in regional cooperation, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and democratic processes in Serbia, stressing that promoting parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Denmark contributes to the improvement of overall cooperation between the two countries.

Gordana Comic briefed the Danish parliamentarians on the current political situation in Serbia and the efforts expended on Euro-integration. She opined that the continued implementation of reforms in Serbia and its constructive role in the region draw Serbia closer to the EU. Gordana Comic said that it was important for Serbia to be given a date for the beginning of talks on EU membership, adding that it is also in Europe’s interest to have the talks start as soon as possible. The National Assembly Deputy Speaker also spoke of the progress of the cooperation process in South East Europe and the role of women in Serbian political life, informing the Danish guests about the recent established of a Women’s Parliamentary Network at the National Assembly.
