Meeting of Steering Committee of PAM Panel on Trade and Investments in the Mediterranean

The member of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, MP Nevena Stojanovic, as a member of the Steering Committee, took part in the meeting of the Steering Committee of the PAM Panel on Trade and Investments in the Mediterranean. The meeting took place under the auspices of the Second Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, in Rabat, Morocco, on 3 May 2013.


The meeting hosted by the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco focused on identifying the key activities, strategies and priorities for the biennium 2013-2014.
During the meeting, the members of the PAM Steering Committee, parliamentarians and representatives from international, regional and governmental institutions, focused their debate on the impact of the global crisis on national and regional economies, as well as the role of parliamentarians in their capacity as legislators responsible for the introduction of new initiatives aimed at creating the most suitable environment for national and regional growth. The meeting also focused on proposals and suggestions for the high level inter-governmental conference to be held in Geneva, 30-31 May 2013, at the UN Palace (the conference is organised in cooperation with UNECE and UNCTAD), which the National Assembly’s standing delegation will be taking part in. The inter-governmental conference is expected to gather representatives from various international and regional public and private organisations, and Serbia i.e. MP Nevena Stojanovic, following her successful address in Rabat, has been appointed the Chair of one of the panels at the conference.
The meeting in Rabat was also attended by representatives of the economic and financial sector of several Mediterranean countries (representatives of their chambers of commerce and financial institutions). At the margins of the meeting, MP Nevena Stojanovic had several bilateral meetings dedicated to proposals for investment into Serbia.
