The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Turkey, Jadranka Joksimovic, pointed out that Turkey is an important regional partner to Serbia, highlighting the importance of economic and political cooperation between the two states.

In the course of the meeting, Ambassador Bozay opined that there is ample room for further improvement of relations between Serbia and Turkey in all spheres, particularly as regards expanding the scope of trade between the two countries. Ambassador Bozay also pointed out the results already achieved in the sphere of economic cooperation and Turkish investment into the Serbian market.

In the course of the meeting, the officials agreed that the economic cooperation had boosted the political relations between Serbian and Turkey. They spoke of the potentials for cooperation and investment into infrastructure, agriculture, electronics and the textile industry in Serbia, as well as Turkish investments into Serbia’s transport infrastructure, especially Corridor 11 which is a strategically important project and a significant connection between the Adriatic and the Danube.

The Turkish Ambassador underlined the private sector’s interest in venturing onto the Serbian market, to which end it had already launched numerous initiatives and business ventures.

In addition to the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Turkey, Jadranka Joksimovic, the meeting with the Turkish Ambassador was attended by Irena Vujovic, Emir Elfic, Branislav Jovanovic, Mujo Mukovic, Dejan Radenkovic and Riza Halimi, Parliamentary Friendship Group members.
