Fourth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2006 convened

As was announced on 20 April 2006, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today convened the Fourth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2006 for 10 a.



As was announced on 20 April 2006, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today convened the Fourth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2006 for 10 a.m. on Monday 8 May 2006.

Fifteen items have been included in the proposed agenda, including a set of laws regulating the financial market, the new Code on Criminal Proceedings, a number of laws regulating the judiciary, the proposal of a decision setting out the national judiciary reform strategy, as well as bills on arbitration and copyright protection.

Mr Markovic also included in the agenda four bills brought into Assembly procedure by being submitted accompanied by more than 100,000 registered voters’ signatures. The Government of the Republic of Serbia had given a negative assessment of the bills in December 2005, which caused the proposers to withdraw them from the agenda at the December 2005 sitting of the National Assembly.

3.Bill on Training of Judges, Public Attorneys, Assistant Public Prosecutors, and Judges’ and Prosecutors’ Assistants, proposed by the Government (No. 011-501/06 of 6 March 2006);

4.Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Ordering of Courts, proposed by the Government (No. 7-533/06 of 10 March 2006);

5.Arbitration Bill, proposed by the Government (No. 7-2461/05 of 21 October 2005);

6.Bill on Special Powers to Efficiently Protect Intellectual Property Rights, proposed by the Government (No. 011-3100/05 of 30 December 2005);

7.Bill on Securities and Other Financial Instruments Market, proposed by the Government (No. 400-923/06 of 29 April 2006);

8.Investment Funds Bill, proposed by the Government (No. 400-2064/05 of 8 September 2005);

9.Bill on the Assumption of Joint-Stock Companies, proposed by the Government (No. 4-2950/05 of 14 December 2005);

10.Accounting and Auditing Bill, proposed by the Government (No. 400-84/06 of 18 January 2006);

11.Public Ski Resorts Bill, proposed by the Government (No. 66-31/05 of 11 January 2005);

12.Bill Amending and Modifying the Privatisation Act, proposed by a group of 545,208 registered voters (No. 02-2101/05 of 4 October 2005);

13.Bill on the Establishment of NIS-Kapital Joint-Stock Company, proposed by a group of 545,564 registered voters (No. 02-2102/05 of 4 October 2005);

14.Bill on the Establishment of EPS-Kapital Joint-Stock Company, proposed by a group of 542,592 registered voters (No. 02-2103/05 of 4 October 2005), and

15.Bill on the Establishment of PTT-Kapital Joint-Stock Company, proposed by a group of 546,921 registered voters (No. 02-2104/05 of 4 October 2005).
