The decision proposal was elaborated by SAI Council President Radoslav Sretenovic, after which the Committee members passed the Decision granting consent to the Proposal of the Decision on the State Audit Institution 2014 Financial Plan with projections for 2015 and 2016.

The Committee then proceeded to discuss the State Audit Institution 2013 Activity Report. SAI Council President Sretenovic presented the execution of the SAI 2013 Auditing Programme within all six sectors, as well as the impact of the audits and contribution to the proper use of public funds. Sretenovic also spoke of the effects of the SAI’s cooperation with the National Assembly, independent regulatory bodies and international institutions and organisations, the media and citizens.

In the course of the discussion, the Committee members asked about the irregularities found by the audits and the status of the charges filed by the SAI. They were also informed about the initiatives the SAI announced would launch to call for new legislation and amendments and modifications to the existing laws.

After the discussion, the Committee formulated the following Conclusion Proposal on the reviewed State Audit Institution 2013 Activity Report: the National Assembly deems that in its 2013 Activity Report the State Audit Institution has given a comprehensive breakdown of the activities of the State Audit Institution in exercising its constitutional and legal duties relating to auditing public funds in the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee decided to submit a Report accompanied by the Conclusion Proposal on the reviewed State Audit Institution 2013 Activity Report to the National Assembly and propose that it be discussed by urgent procedure.
