As regards the Commission’s funding problems, which the Committee members have already been informed about, the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development informed the Committee members on the activities employed to address the problem. They said that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development had sent a memo to the Ministry of Finance and Economy requesting a solution to the problem of insufficient funds for the Commission’s work for the remainder of the year, as well as to request that the cost incurred in the Commission’s work in the previous period be settled. The issue of next year's funding will be debated at a later date. Zoran Masic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, announced that the price for the accreditation of new faculties and study programmes will be reduced.
In the ensuing discussion, the Committee members talked about the problems suffered by higher education institutions and pointed out the need for more frequent inspections by the Ministry.
The Committee went on to adopt the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development Activity Information for the period July - September 2012.
