Eighth Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee

At the sitting held on 10 January, the members of the Environmental Protection Committee reviewed the Ministry of Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period August - October 2017.

Minister of Environmental Protection Goran Trivan presented the Activity Information, focusing mainly on the organization and job systematisation in the newly established Ministry.

Minister Trivan also spoke about the IPA funded projects, international and regional cooperation realized in the reporting period, and cooperation with EU institutions.

The Minister of Environmental Protection also informed the Committee members about the rules and regulations passed by the Ministry.

In the course of the ensuing debate the Committee members were additionally informed on the ongoing process of forestation, development of the biomass market, air quality, climate change, combating pollution and the Ministry’s work as regards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Following the debate, the Committee members adopted the Ministry of Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period August - October 2017.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Ivana Stojiljkovic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Ivana Nikolic, Milena Turk, Sonja Vlahovic, Radoslav Cokic, Nada Lazic, Dr Predrag Jelenkovic, Borka Grubor, Prof. Dr Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, Dusko Tarbuk, Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Gordana Comic, Miroslava Stankovic Djuricic, Milos Boskovic and Vladimir Petkovic. The sitting was also attended by representatives of the network of NGOs who take part in the Committee’s work through the Green Chair mechanism.
