Dr Orlic and Namibian National Assembly Speaker: Two Countries Bound by Friendship, Mutual Support and Principled Position on Kosovo-Metohija

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic met today in Kigali, on the margins of the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Namibia prof. Peter Katjavivi.

As Dr Orlic pointed out, the two countries are bound by traditional friendship, mutual support and good relations further deepened during the visit of a Namibian delegation to Belgrade in 2019 and participation in the 141st IPU Assembly. The Namibian National Assembly Speaker congratulated the Serbian Parliament on the successful organisation of said event and expressed satisfaction with the excellent cooperation that brings the two countries ever closer together.

Dr Orlic thanked the Republic of Namibia for its principled stance and non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of so-called "Kosovo", that is its support for preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.

The officials expressed interest in improving interparliamentary cooperation, as well as cooperation in general, especially in the spheres of economy and education.
