At the beginning of the conversation, the Cuban Ambassador congratulated Ivica Dacic on his election for National Assembly Speaker and wished him success in leading the highest representative body of the Republic of Serbia. He also expressed the wish that the previous excellent professional and personal cooperation would continue during the new mandate.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic thanked the guest and said that he would personally make sure the excellent cooperation with the Republic of Cuba continues to improve at all levels, especially at the parliamentary. He informed H.E. Gustavo Trista del Todo that a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Cuba was recently formed in the Assembly, boasting 51 members and headed by MP Prof. Dr Ljubomir Stojimirovic. He expressed the wish to continue to deepen and strengthen parliamentary cooperation, which the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups would undoubtedly contribute to, as well as the regular exchange of visits between the heads of parliament, when the epidemiological situation allows it.

The Cuban Ambassador expressed satisfaction that this legislature’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Cuba is larger than in the previous, adding that he would like to meet with the members of the Group in order to intensify cooperation between the two parliaments.

H.E. Gustavo Trista del Todo also took the opportunity give a letter from the Cuban National Assembly Speaker Esteban Lazo Hernandez to National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic, congratulating him on taking office.
