Dr Orlic said that the National Assembly institutionally supports the idea of candidacy, but it is important for the delegation to hear the individual opinions of relevant political actors, that is, representatives of all 15 of the parliamentary groups in the National Assembly.

Those present unanimously supported Belgrade's candidacy, stressing that Serbia has the capacity to organise this important event, as it has proven many times over through the realisation of some of the most important international events. They pointed out that Serbia is globally recognised as a country of top athletes and musicians, and an extremely hospitable country a well. They were also unanimous in their opinion that organising EXPO 2027 would be an exceptional promotion for Belgrade, as well as for the whole of Serbia.

The President of the BIE Executive Committee Alain Berger noted Serbia’s an exceptional team spirit and was pleased to point out the fact that there is an obvious unity that goes beyond individual political interests.

"I know that making a final decision about our candidacy is not your mission’s role, but please inform the others that hardly anyone can compete with this unity and all of Belgrade and Serbia’s other assets that you have become familiar with in recent days", said the National Assembly Speaker.
