The Decision Proposal was presented by Jelena Tanaskovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, who said that the National Health Insurance Fund 2018 Financial Plan rebalance means an overall 4.1 billion RSD increase for expenses based on the 3.6 billion RSD in carried over and unspent funds from the previous year and 500 million RSD in subsequently carried over funds. Tanaskovic said that the funds will be used for the treatment of rare diseases – 2 billion RSD, and the rest for prescription medicines, sick leave pay and procurement of medical aids.

Having asked a number of questions mainly focusing on whether the 2 billion RSD would be enough for the medical treatment of children abroad, the Committee members accepted the Decision proposal by majority vote and forwarded it to the National Assembly for consideration and ruling.
