Assistant Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Petar Stanojevic said that the adoption of the Bill creates the appropriate conditions for the construction and realisation of the South Stream natural gas transport system project. Stanojevic reminded the Committee members that the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation had signed an energy agreement in 2008 according to which Serbia pledged to help in the construction of the infrastructure and facilities one of which is the route of the gas pipeline system.
In the course of the debate the Committee members shared their opinions on the solutions offered by the Bill and asked for additional information from the Assistant Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection about some of the proposed provisions.
Following the debate the Committee adopted the Bill on Determining Public Interest and Special Expropriation Procedures and Acquisition of Documentation for the Realisation of Construction of the South Stream Natural Gas Transport System.

This was also the first electronic Committee sitting, and was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Dr Aleksandra Tomic.
