14th Sitting of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy
At the sitting held on 7 October, the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy discussed and adopted the Report of the Committee’s Working Group set up to establish whether the participants of the public competition for the election of president and members of the Council of the Commission for Protection of Competition meet the appropriate requirements.
The Committee members set up a Candidate List for president of the Commission for Protection of Competition and forwarded it to the National Assembly for discussion and adoption. Doc. Dr Miloje Obradovic is the candidate for Commission President.
At the sitting, the Committee members also formulated the Candidate List for members of the Council of the Commission for Protection of Competition and forwarded it to the National Assembly for discussion and adoption. The candidates for Council members are as follows: Dr Veljko Milutinovic, Mirjana Miskovic Vukasinovic, Marko Obradovic and Ivan Ugrin.
As stipulated by the Law amending and modifying the Law on Protection of Competition, the president and four members of the Council of the Commission for Protection of Competition are elected to a five-year term of office and dismissed by the National Assembly, at the proposal of the competent Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic.
