Brnabic thanked Mecacci for the ODIHR Mission’s presence in Serbia whenever necessary, stressing our country’s appreciation for all the help and dedicated work the institution has invested into improving the electoral process.

The Parliament Speaker noted that she remembers well that, when the cooperation between Serbia and ODIHR was launched, few people in Serbia knew what this OSCE office was doing, while today everyone is talking about their recommendations, which she assessed to be positive.

She underlined that she is extremely glad that she has managed to establish a dialogue with the opposition, because she believes that the right way for the full implementation of ODIHR's recommendations is all the parliamentary political parties working together. The Assembly Speaker informed Mecacci that her call for dialogue, whatever the opposition parties’ response might be, will remain always open.

Mecacci said that he greatly appreciates Ana Brnabic's leadership in establishing a dialogue, as well as her advocacy to take ODIHR's recommendations seriously and put them into practice.

He noted that there are always challenges when working to implement the ODIHR recommendations and that the mission is ready to continue to work together with the Serbian institutions towards improving the electoral process.

Brnabic confirmed that Serbia too is focused on future cooperation with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and that she is convinced that good cooperation will continue.
