National Assembly Speaker Becomes Association of Descendants of Serbian Warriors 1912 – 1920 Honorary Member

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, received a delegation of the Association of Descendants of Serbian Warriors 1912 – 1920, which declared her its honorary member.


The delegation members presented her with a plaque thanking her for, as they said, keeping and cultivating the hallowed traditions of the Serbian past and fostering love for Serbia and for her contribution to the defense of the country and its people in modern times. The Speaker received the recognition on the day Belgrade was liberated in World War One, 1 November 1918.

Djukic-Dejanovic thanked them for the award saying that one demonstrates love for one’s country by not forgetting what is in its foundations, which is what the Association of
Descendants of Serbian Warriors 19121920 promotes. The Speaker added that she saw the meeting as a celebration because of herself and her ancestors and all of our ancestors.

So far, the Association has named the President of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic its honorary members.
