The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, convened the First Special Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2006 for 8 pm on Saturday, 30 September.

Mr Markovic set a one-item agenda for the sitting: Proposal of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, with its associated Proposal of the Decision Calling a Republic Referendum to Confirm the new Constitution of the Republic of Serbia. The Decision had been proposed by 232 deputies.

The First Special Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia is to be held at the National Assembly Building at 14, Kralja Milana St.
