Committee Chairman Aleksandar Senic informed Christian Danielsson about the activities of the European Integration Committee and the National Assembly in the European integration process, saying he believed the most important negotiation chapters would be opened by the end of the year viz. judiciary, justice, freedom and security. Senic also emphasised Serbia’s active role in the promotion of regional cooperation and good-neighbourly relations.

The Committee members briefed Danielsson on the economic reform process, entrepreneurship development strategy and the role Serbia plays in the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

Addressing the Committee members, Danielsson said that, in the immediate future, Serbia is expected to focus on the continued reform of the judiciary and state administration, and protection of fundamental human and minority rights and liberties, asserting the European Commission’s readiness to join efforts with Serbia and contribute to the efficiency of its European integration process.

The meeting was attended by Committee members Dr Dijana Vukomanovic, Dr Aleksandra Tomic, Gordana Comic, Vesna Markovic and Katarina Susnjar.
